"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

Welcome to the boards friend. I hope you enjoy your stay here. :D

Any Dragon Ball Z game for the wii usually sucks, so I suggest getting the PS2 version.

Budokai Tenkaichi (the first one) was the first actual fighting game in history with a 3D destructible environment in which you'd have to track down your opponent inside a stage in order to fight them. Almost all fighting games follow this concept now. So by this concept, BT was more of a beta test because this concept of interactive gaming was brand new. However, the downside of this game was that the characters didn't really have individualized moves. A lot of them shared the same moves.

Budokai Tenkaichi 2 was an enhanced version of BT. The characters were more individualized and didn't share as many moves. In addition to this, the player could fly around Dragon World in search of fights, similar to Budokai 3, but not as interesting because you could only go to places that were marked on the map.

Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was considered the best of the three games by most fans. The game has the largest character rouster in any Dragon Ball Z game, topping off at over 160 playable characters. In it's day, it was the fighting game with the largest character rouster in history, although it was soon overthrown by another game (can't think of the name). This character rouster included innocuous characters from Dragon Ball like Grandpa Gohan, Devilman, and even Arale from Dr. Slump. The characters were further individualized by having different fighting styles and individualized moves. It's still considered to have one of the largest character rousters in any fighting game.

So take your pick. I'd personally suggest Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (but I LOVE Budokai Tenkaichi 3). I know a lot of people like this game, and I myself enjoyed it.
